June 26, 2012

EAST POINT – A carnival will take over downtown East Point as the community celebrates July 4th.

The fun begins for Independence Day and runs through July 8.

From carnival favorites like the carousel and a Ferris wheel to rides, it’ll be a classic celebration for the East Point community.

It is organized by the East Point Main Street Association.

The “Salute the Red, White & Blue” fair opens on July 3, starting at 3 p.m.

The hours for the rest of the week are:

  • July 4th – 2pm to midnight
  • July 5th – 3pm to 10pm
  • July 6th – 3pm to midnight
  • July 7th – 3pm to midnight
  • July 8th – 3pm to 10 pm

It will set up in The Common, down the street from the East Point MARTA station and next to the East Point library.

The fireworks display in East Point draws a big crowd. It sets off at 9:30 p.m.
